Iziko Lo Lwazi strives to empower women through employment and education. The education takes place in the following ways:

• weekly literacy classes
• bead and craft training
• training in managerial roles (3 women)
• business training
• life skills e.g. paraffin safety, health and childcare

Every Thursday is a training day and the women are paid R50 to attend this day (funded by NDA until August 09). Business training takes place in dealing with the weekly project expenses and market and shop sales. The supervisors receive ongoing training while dealing with everyday activities pertaining to the running of the project.
